The Choir of St Paul’s College, University of Sydney
“Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning.” he Seven Stars explores the movement from lamentation to joy, from darkness to light, through some of the finest music in the choral repertoire.
The programme includes Gesualdo’s O vos omnes, Drury’s By the waters of Babylon, Pärt’s The Woman with the Alabaster Box, Walton’s Jubilate, and Jonathan Dove’s Seek Him that maketh the seven stars.
The programme also includes canticle settings by Alexander L’Estrange and Forshaw. Among them is a Nunc Dimittis for choir and saxophone, featuring Ryan Piccione.
